Prof. Nick Greene

As a professor of Developmental Neurobiology, Nick Greene leads a team of researchers currently exploring gene therapy treatments for NKH.

Prof. Johan L Van Hove

As a Professor of Clinical Genetics and Metabolism in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colarado in Denver, Prof. Van Hove has over 15 years of NKH Research under his belt and is currently exploring Chaperone Therapy.

Dr. Katsuri Halder

Dr. Katsuri leads the Pathogenesis and Treatment of Rare and Neglected Diseases team in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame. They focus on neurological disorders such as Niemann Pick Type C and NKH, as well as malaria.

Currently are designing a severity algorithm and building an NKH mouse model.

There is street parking and double yellows along Deansgate road, street parking is quite limited.

By Public Transport

Deansgate Castlefield is a 4 minute walk from the Hilton and links to the main tram lines through Manchester (on Tram Lines 1,2,3,6 and 7).

Across the road is Deansgate Train Station, also 4 minutes walk from the Hilton and only two stops from the main Terminal in Manchester Piccadilly.

The nearest bus stops are Watson St (Stop SS – Buses 33 and 63), Deansgate Stn (Stop D – Buses 255, 291, X50, X58 and the Metro Shuttle 2) and Knott Mill (Stop B – Buses 33, 255, 278 and 291).

From the Airport

The Hilton hotel operates a free shuttle service from Manchester Airport Terminals and Manchester Airport Train Station.

Shuttle Information from Manchester Airport:
– Terminal 1 – Bus stop D, outside of arrivals to the left.
– Terminal 2 – Bus stop B, outside of arrivals to the right.
– Terminal 3 – Hotel Bus Stop D. Walk out of the terminal. Turn right.

Train Station: Bus stop next to Taxi Rank outside of the Train/Tram/Bus Station

The airport and train shuttle operates 24 hours.

To request a bus from these locations, please dial 3084/Hilton Option from any of the courtesy phones at information points at each terminal’s arrivals and near the exit to Taxi Rank from the train terminal.

You will be connected through to the hotel, please advise of your name and location. Please ensure you have cleared customs with your luggage before calling to request a transfer from the airport.
